When Dreams Come True

I got very serious about finally getting my novel published this year. I hit the floor running once I fully committed to going the indie publishing route. I completed my manuscript, found a very talented person to do the cover and format the interior, and then sent the manuscript to be published. It's hard to describe the feelings I had when the author's copies arrived. Once corrections were made for the final revision, there was no turning back. "Driving Timmy's Car" was on its way to being published.

I've been asked what made me want to write a book. The short answer is I had a story roaming around in my head for thirty years that I thought would make a good book. My biggest fear was that the book would be awful and an embarrassment to both me and my family. Thankfully, the exact opposite has occurred. I've been overwhelmed and humbled with the positive responses I've gotten from people who have read my novel.

It's so exciting when people tell me how much they've enjoyed the story. Reading the reviews on Amazon from family, friends, and total strangers make my day. I never wrote the book expecting to make a lot of money. But I would like as many people as possible to read my book simply because I think, and apparently others agree, that "Driving Timmy's Car" is an engaging story about friendship, love, and redemption.

I told someone that writing the book may have been the easy part. In order to get it noticed, I feel like I'm constantly posting something on social media. The problem there is that I don't have thousands of followers. So, I reached out to someone who does have a lot of social media followers. I sent a book and a note to Susannah B. Lewis. (If you don't know who she is Google her and then follow her on Facebook. She's hilarious.) I asked her if she would please mention it on one of her posts. I didn't know if she would even take the time to read the note but apparently, she did. She made a special post on Facebook which really boosted my sales and had "Driving Timmy's Car" at #26 on Amazon for Women's Christian Fiction for at least a day.

If you haven't read "Driving Timmy's Car" yet, I'd love for you to read it. And if you read it and liked it, please tell your friends about it.
